The non-recyclable fraction of Urban Solid Waste is used every day in greater quantities for use as an alternative fuel to traditional sources (oil and coal). Below we present a “type” plant of the machines that perform this work.
At Domenech we offer advanced solutions for different productions of material quality that is fully controlled in its process. All facilities offer “turnkey” execution, from their conception at the engineering level to the launch of the manufactured product.
Scroll through the image and you’ll find the names of the different phases.

Reception of RDF is usually carried out with trucks from waste treatment plants. These trucks may or may not have a moving bottom. If they have a moving bottom, the trucks unload onto moving bottoms fixed in the plant, which either flow into another moving bottom that collects from several of them (river moving bottom), or directly to the screw feeders. In the case of dump trucks, the material is unloaded on a plate feeder with a rubber band. In both cases, the material is subsequently dosed using screw feeders, either with one or several axes depending on the quantity to be fed in the application. With chain belt conveyors, the material is transported to the next phase.
(It will be used whenever necessary, in the case of coming from a Domenech RDF – Processing plant, this phase will not be necessary). The material from recycling plants may contain a quantity of improper materials, which make its processing and subsequent transportation difficult. For this reason, it is passed through machines that eliminate these contaminants from the RDF flow, leaving the material more homogeneous in terms of composition and granulometry. In a disc screen, a volumetric separation is made, eliminating objects larger than the desired size.
Once the desired fraction of the material has been selected, it is stored in a horizontal silo. With this silo you obtain a large storage capacity and a dosage appropriate to the needs of each application. Material output is carried out using screw conveyors.
From the storage silo and using chain belt conveyors, the material is transported to the dosing point. This type of conveyor achieves a high degree of efficiency and cleanliness of operation. In order for the dosing to be as continuous as possible, a silo with screw feeders that feed the desired amount of RDF without interruption is usually located after the linear conveyor. To carry out an exhaustive dosage, the material is subsequently weighed using the feeder-weighers that allow controlling and dosing the appropriate amount of RDF introduced into the process.
